Enligt Stats bör Carolina vara en svag motståndare och bara Philadelphia har gjorde färre mål än Carolina i ligan.
Edmonton Journal har en blänkare inför matchen och citerar bl a coach McLellan.
Nilsson, who only played in three of the first dozen Edmonton Oilers games, will get his eighth start in the past 10 on Wednesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. He’ll likely go against Sherwood Park’s Cam Ward who broke the Oilers’ hearts 9 1/2 years ago in the Stanley Cup final.
Nilsson didn’t win the battle with Braden Holtby Monday in Washington, where the two goalies faced 63 shots and were only beaten once — by Capitals defenceman Dmitry Orlov late in the third period on a ripper that beat Nilsson.
“Perfect shot, right by his ear,” said McLellan.
However it went in, Nilsson seems to have won the No. 1 job, for now, with Cam Talbot reduced to cheerleading.
“Tremendous game in Washington,” said the Oilers’ coach McLellan.
“I’m seeing a lot of confidence from Nilly right now. With his size (six-foot-five), if he’s positioned well in the net, odds are the puck’s going to hit him somewhere and there hasn’t been a lot of garbage laying around. He’s smothered things.”
While Nilsson’s goals-against-average (2.83) and save percentage (. 908) still need work, he’s only given up six goals in his last three starts. “I’m feeling more and more comfortable … every goalie likes to play more games because it gets easier mentally. You’re in the game before the game starts,” he said.
“I’ve been a bit inconsistent though. I want to find a good level and keep it.”

NILLY.
That's what TM called him several times in morning interview. Must be his nickname.
☺
Anyway, coach made reference to how good teams seem to play better in front of good tenders. And I agree.
Not saying Nilly is better then Cam(well..currently he has been), but the team does seem to play better in front of him. Confidence in your goalie thing, I guess. Last time I checked Nilly was facing around 3-4 more shots per game on average then Talbot also, but that was a few games ago.
