The Montreal Canadiens suffered a major blow with the news that workhorse defenceman Andrei Markov would be out at least three weeks with a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.
Markov leads all Montreal defencemen with 30 points (7-23) in 40 games and tops all Canadiens with more than 24 minutes of ice time a game. He's also a key component of the Habs' power play.
