J F K: Iallafall, skönt att vi kan avskriva att Byström skulle bli den enda backen in. Förhoppningsvis kan vi avskriva honom totalt lite senare.

Rödluvan: Hittade lite scout-rapporter. De verkar skrivna ur NHL-perspektivet, så man får ha lite förståelse för att det som beskrivs som dåligt kanske är helt ok på SHL-nivå.

Vet ej när det skrevs:
Is a good puck-moving defenseman who can be a solid defender in his own end. Can also produce decent offensive numbers at lower levels. Owns a pretty good point shot. Does not have ideal strength for an NHL blueliner, so he could stand to add more bulk to his 6-2 frame to maximize playing time at the highest level. Is a limited talent, overall.

2021
LaDue has the potential to be a solid second-pairing defenseman. He has some upside in that he has the skill to be a quarterback on the power play; smooth skating, a good shot, and he moves the puck around well.

2018 rankades han rätt högt av LA Kings:
A well-rounded defenseman, LaDue is as solid as they come. He’s a man of many talents, despite not overly shining in any single aspect; rather being strong in almost every facet of the game. … LaDue is used in all situations by Ontario Coach Mike Stothers. His hockey IQ is great and he consistently makes the smart play and also is aware enough to make the riskier play when needed. Further, LaDue is the true definition of a two-way defenseman; something on display every night during his college days, where he was trusted to play in all situations. He has a great transition game and can help contribute offensively, yet he’s also a strong positional defender in his own zone. … Since the departure of Slava Voynov a few summers ago, the LA blueline has ceased to be the same. LaDue should slide in as the long-awaited replacement to the team’s former anchor on their second pairing. Which is why, as we have noted several times recently, LaDue is nearly untouchable when it comes to trades being considered by GM Dean Lombardi. That’s not to say it’s impossible (we all know the adage, even Wayne Gretzky was traded); but more to the point that it would have to be an overpayment of epic proportions to pry him from the pipeline.



Svårt att ha en uppfattning. Nordamerikaner brukar ha det jobbigt i övergången till svensk hockey. (Snudd på alla spelare får problem att kliva direkt in i SHL om de inte spelat i Brynäs enligt Peja).
Det som i det där är positivt är att han beskrivs att ha bra spelsinne, snabba förstapass/bra med pucken och rörlighet. Mindre bra kanske är hans fysiska spel trots att han är stor. Just de saker som beskrivs som positiva är viktigast i SHL. Förmågan att hålla pucken är betydligt viktigare än i NHL där ett snabbt pass sarg ut ofta duger för en defensiv back. Det gör det inte i SHL.

Man får också uppfattningen att han har mer potential än man fått ut. Kanske kan Karlin locka fram en liten nivå till där?

Kanske inte det mest spännande namnet men det känns ändå helt ok. Och om nu Norlinder kommer hem så blir det riktigt bra.
Hade väl hoppats på något mer välkänt namn men men det blir nog bra.
